Sindhutai Sapkal Is A Flame That Is Always Burning!
(Sandip gayakwad) Mai’s journey has been a very difficult one and we have all heard from her how she has created a world from many kinds of scratches in her life. Her work, her strength, her courage, and her compassionate "mind", full of unwavering, never-ending love, inspires every woman in the world.
Mai has taken care of the orphans children and She has given them a bright future, with the best education as possible. Mai is an ignorant Mother who has only studied till 4th standard but the children she has raised are working in many big positions like doctors, lawyers, engineers. Creating a world like this is a huge contribution, a sacrifice. On 4th January 2022, the breath of this Mother merged into Panchatatva. Mai took her last farewell.
Mai literally begged for food to feed her orphaned children.Deadbodies offering would meet her food and for that She would wait for hours in the cemetery to satisfy her hunger for a little while. From the sufferings she endured, she became the mother of orphans, gave them a hand of love, taught them, nurtured them and made them a responsible citizen of India. She had really changed the definition of mother.
Mai was born in a very poor family on 14th November 1948 in Pimpri Meghe village in Wardha district. Mai’s father Abhimanyu Sathe was a cowherd boy.I always get a question,If they asked for a one-time meal, what would be the food at home? Mai's name was rag as a child but who knew this rag would add thousands of patches and bring them into a mainstream.Mai's education is only till 4th, due to poor circumstances she had to give up her further education. Later, at the age of 9, she got married to Shrihari Sapkal, who was 26 years older, and at the age of 20, Mai was evicted by her husband along with her little girl. After that She had never looked back. She spent the night in a cow shed, begged at the station, slept at the station and made the journey of the orphans pleasant.
Mai did not stop here, She established Mamata Bal Sadan in 1994 in Kumbharwalan village Purandar,Pune. And there She takes care of living, eating and their most important part education and also take care, how they can be enriched financially in the organization. Later, she set up many organizations, including Abhiman Bal Bhavan Wardha, Gopika Gairakshan Wardha, Savitribai Phule Girls' Hostel Chikhaldara, Bal Niketan Hadapsar Pune, Saptasindhu Mahila Aadhar Childcare and Education Institute, Mother Global Foundation.
Mai has been honored with nearly 750 national and international awards. her work has been recognized not only nationally but also internationally.Because the work She has done for the special orphan community is remarkable. Recently She was also honored with Padma Shri award in 2021. This is the end of journey. And she had taken her last breath.Mai you will always be with us.
