I AM SPECIAL

I AM SPECIAL

(Gul Shivnani) When we hear the word special, always it comes to our mind I am a VVIP OR I am not worth of anything so I need to be special. Now that has multiple meaning other than important person. It can be Insensitive, Interpersonal, Irreconcilable, Investigative, Impractical, Impressionistic OR Independent, Intelligent, Intellectual, Incorruptible, Incomparable, Informative.

What were you thinking around? Confused? We are only talking of negatives and positives here. Is that the case always? We all have positives and negatives in our lives, just like Rahu and Ketu…. Hmmm à but Rahu and Ketu were part of the same creature or body. Are we not the same? We are in form of a human body with virtues and vices within ourselves. Also, we have something above our shoulders something like a coconut, a round thing – our HEAD. Fortunately, or unfortunately that coconut has something inside called as Brain. Which most of us use very rarely or extraordinarily. But still, we all feel we are special as the following quote says.

“To make something or someone special you just have to BELIEVE, its special.”

Let me narrate a real-life story….

This is about a boy – Harry who was very smart, studious and sharp in anything that he was involved in, except the studies. You will be feeling not many are good in studies, but still are doing good in their life. So, Harry was preparing for his competitive exams as he had always believed that he is capable of working only in the government or semi-government organisations. Unfortunately harry realised that he had sleepless nights and was been stressed because of his exams. 8 days before the test\exams he felt as if his hands were been frozen or someone is holding his fingers too tight. He had some difficulty in writing on a paper or a book. He started to realise that he is really stressed and need some rest. So, he opted for taking a break from studies for 24 hours. After the stipulated time he still was not able to write properly, the pen was flipped away from his hands. He realised that his thumb and pointer finger do not have proper strength to hold any object. He did talk to his brother about the same, as it was almost 3 days, he as facing this issue. We are talking about Right hand here, as he was all a right hander for all his activities including writing on a paper. Finally, after a week he had to talk to his mother about the same, who was a single mother and managing everything. She immediately took him to a neurologist, who was her friend. He did all his tests and diagnosis, gave a report that Harry was under immense pressure and very stressed. Now imagine a boy of just 20 years almost ½ paralyzed who is almost ready to share responsibilities with his mother in this condition. This went on almost for 11 months with things getting worst day by day. By that time harry was totally frustrated and had all negative thoughts in his mind.

Fortunately, he had a family friend who was in mentoring and counselling, he helped him to sail over this time of difficulty. Harry started to realise why do had given all 2 – hands, legs, eyes, ears….

He started to practice writing with this left hand. Within a span of 85 days, he was ready to attempt his competitive exams. Now he was full of confidence and gained back his trust and belief as always, he felt he was special. Yes, he was special. As of today, Harry is at one of the respectable and senior position in Ministry of Commerce.

I do feel very special all the time and always thank that almighty for not switching off my air connections. What does that mean? I am still Breathing. I am sure we all realise this at this time of crisis, when are struggling to get artificial OXYGEN at this time of need.  I do keep on saying to myself

“I am UNIQUE

“I am DIFFERENT

“I am IMPORTANT

“I am SPECIAL

“I am ME

Its all time for your today, in Hindi we say KAL (yesterday and Tomorrow). We cannot sit and feel pity for our past or cannot what’s comes in future. So, it’s now or never.

As one of the phrases say

“Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a Mystery, and Today is a GIFT… that’s why they call it THE PRESENT”
